They say that with Meditation you are always a beginner, I hope to keep starting and keep up the race.

August  2017 Preparing for art Exhibition at Armidale Art Gallery NEAS (New England Art Society) next month rush rush rush leaving things to the last minute.

Exhibition is with my son David Allan who is an exceptional artist and illustrator it will be interesting. The Exhibition is called "Illustrations and Inspiration"

Seem to be getting some new things done but will most probably have to show some older paintings as well.

March 2017 -- Have just started and almost finished new pics for  a Rotary Art Show exhibition. It has been a long journey with Cancer in 2012 treated with Radiotherapy and and then another Cancer -- Lymphoma in 2015  this time chemotherapy. 2016 has just been a year of getting over the treatment.
Intending to do more paintings last year but time just passing with life too quickly. Will be doing more this year. Forgot to take a photo of two pics I put in the Rotary Art show but here are the best I think anyway.

Lee Milroy is an artist who is now concentrating on her childhood passion for painting and art.

She enjoyed using watercolours in her painting in her early days as an artist after leaving school. However the demands of a more ‘practical’ lifestyle and the need to earn a living obliged her to put her creative efforts on hold.

After many years of working in nursing, Lee did a Grad Dip Ed, teaching Secondary English and History, following with a Master’s degree in which she studied early Greek and Etruscan Art and early Christian iconography as part of her Thesis, meanwhile establishing her own business, teaching computer skills, graphic art and multi-media.

Lee has managed to combine her love of images with her skills in technology by creating graphics as part of her computer based business which also assists in using and manipulating images as a basis for her art works.

She is now concentrating on traditional art and painting. She enjoys painting wildlife and other natural subjects such as horses, dogs and especially birds and landscapes.

She has had exhibitions at the Armidale Art Gallery (New England Art Society) in 2007 and 2011. Lee has also exhibited in Uralla in 2013 with proceeds going to CanAssist after a time off for Cancer treatment and has had various works in the Uralla Rotary Art Show over the years since returning to painting.

She is available for commissions

Prayer and Art

God is here with us.

January 12th  2018
Novena to Holy St Joseph
O St Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong,so prompt before the throne of God. I place in you all my interests and desires. O St Joseph assist me by your powerful intercession and obtain for me from your Devine Son all the spiritual blessings through Jesus Christ Our Lord. so that having here below your heavenly power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of fathers. O St Joseph Please here my prayer and obtain my petitions. O St Joseph pray for us. (petition) May we have a  happy death as you had with Jesus and Mary by your side.  (editied version from 50th century prayer)

November 30th 2017
I have just had a direct answer to prayer.
I am going into the Eye Dr and have to have sunglasses if I get drops in my eye.
They say to have sunglasses ready. What me! I never use sunglasses but did have some somewhere for some reason or other.
Prayed to St Anthony and looked everywhere as I knew I had some somewhere could not find them but found an enormous large pair of my husbands for putting over other glasses and thanked St Anthony anyway.
Just as I was going out the door I noticed a backpack in the ironing room and had not used it for many years. St Anthony said look in that and what do you know the only thing in it besides a few coins was a very nice pair of sunglasses.
I cannot believe it and am gobsmacked thankyou St Anthony you are a treasure. This has given me hope that my novena to the Immaculate Conception for some direction and motivation which I just started yesterday will be answered. The site for remembering to say your Novena is at
They send you the Novena by email and it is a good way to keep up daily prayer even if it is petitioning all the time.

“God is not remote from us. He is at the point of my pen, my (pick) shovel, my paint brush, my sewing needle – and my heart and thoughts.” Teilhard de Chardin

CREATIVE RESPONSE Prayerful creative expression can help us notice how our lives are constantly touched by Gods love. It can help us to see or hear or feel what is happening interiorly and so discover ways of responding to that love generously. In a happy, peaceful environment enjoy praying silently together with others.

Paint, write or use other creative means as you contemplate the chosen Scripture reading. Feel free to linger with any part of the prayer as you are moved to do.

PREPARE I begin by remembering that I am in God’s wonderful presence and that God delights in me.

DESIRE I ask God for the grace I long for. It might be to trust God more, or to be drawn closer to Jesus or to experience interior peace or God’s love for me, or to be able to respond to others with love, or notice goodness in my life. I allow that desire to touch me deeply.

READ I read the  from the daily readings from the Mass through slowly two or three times and notice what part of the passage seems to touch me. Or recall a passage that has touched me recently and pray with that. Do Not Worry – Have Faith Matthew 26 -30 …26 "Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? 27 "And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life? 28 "And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, 29 “yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. 30 "But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith!…

REFLECT I use my imagination noticing what comes to mind. I choose a small part of the passage that stands out for me. I may imagine I am present in the field maybe am sowing seed or digging a garden with my shovel (pick). What is it like? The smells? The sounds, the birdsong. I see the birds flying in the air. I touch the trees around me and let the soil pass through my hands as I am gardening or I move into the fields of lilies. I sense the goodness of creation, “every atom is full of infinite love” I imagine Jesus with me walking. Christ’s his innate loveliness as I walk through the fields of lilies. What do I say to him? How am I feeling? I listen for him to speak to me. What is his invitation? How does it touch me? How am I affected?

PRAY I talk with Jesus about this experience. I invite him to look with me at what I have drawn. We notice things together. I let myself be open to wonder. I am not judging the picture or the experience. I wait and listen. I savour the experience. "Lord Jesus, faith in your word is the way to wisdom, and to ponder your divine plan is to grow in the truth. Open my eyes to your deeds, and my ears to the sound of your call, that I may understand your will for my life and live according to it." I finish with the Our Father.
